Sentry Crash Report:

Description Mark Summerfield 2009-03-12 11:08:11 UTC
Version: 1.11.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), 4.2.0-15.fc10 Fedora)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.19-170.2.35.fc10.i686

I have set my external editor to "gvim -f %f". When I arrow down from the Subject line edit the external editor is correctly opened. But when I close the editor as soon as I do a keypress, e.g., Alt+U to move the focus back to the subject line, the editor opens again. Then I close the editor a second time (and the focus has moved to the subject so it doesn't open again) and I can send the message.

I originally reported this as a bug that applied under GNOME. But yesterday I installed KDE 4.2 and the bug occurs there just the same.

Unrelated annoyances:
- I can't find a way to switch of the alternating colours used as background for the items in the folder and message lists
- Since KMail now uses a treeview for the message list it is *much* slower---especially annoying since I only use it as a list

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make KDE better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 172992, so it is being marked as such. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.

The annoyances are also known bugs:
* The colors and fonts could not be changed in kmail 1.11.0
* the slowliness was solved (i think) for kde 4.2.1.
