The recommended way to close tabs in the terminal is with the keyboard, either Ctrl+D or Ctrl+Shift+W. The long winded route is via File -> Close Tab. We tried adding close buttons on tabs at some point in KDE 4.1.x development but it ended up causing a lot of frustration for people who closed tabs accidentally. This isn't a huge deal in a web browser where modern browsers provide easy 'undo close tab' functionality but in a terminal this was more annoying. Thanks for the quick response. Maybe you can use the same technique as Konqueror by adding a close button somewhere on the right of the tabs to avoid accidental closing? Hi, There is an option for that. Go to Settings -> Edit Current Profile -> Tabs and check the 'Show 'New Tab' and 'Close Tab' buttons in tab bar' option. |
