Version: (using KDE 4.2.1)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

In kde4 there is no evident means to attach a pre-configured size to konsoles
lauched with the --profile <someprofile> option. This was a standard feature
with kde3; editing the kde3-style statements like "Width 1600=658" into the
profile definition in .kde4/share/apps/konsole/xxx.profile does not help. When
a new konsole is launched (regardless whether with or without a profile), the
geometry of that konsole is determined by the most recently used konsole
geometry as defined in .kde4/share/config/konsolerc.

Attaching pre-defined sizes to konsoles created using profiles is a valuable
tool for maintaining a clean desktop and for adapting the size of various
konsoles to the respective need. The lack of a means to define such a
predefined size is a regression with respect to KDE3, there is no apparent
technical reason for this feature to have disappeared
