Version: 4.2.00 (using KDE 4.2.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Immediate "Server Time Out" error when initally connecting, resolving with multiple page reloads, when using tor/privoxy. Frequent immediate "Server Closed Unexpectedly" errors when navigating within a site (like bugs.kde.org), requiring repeated page reloads.

This bug submitted with Epiphany because it was impossible to send with Konqueror.

Changing Network -> Preferences has no effect on this problem (for example, connection timeout = 40s, proxy server timeout = 40s

CONFIRMED for just privoxy. VERY annoying. broken connections are routine over SSL sites like bugs.kde.org. (reporting bugs this way is an enormous hassle but can be done).

"use persistent connection to proxy" has no effect.

Also routinely breaks images randomly (probably broken connections) when viewing online image galleries with many images. have to reload over and over to get a new set of broken images and hope new ones are ones you haven't seen before.

does not - repeat NOT - happen with exact same privoxy settings and Firefox.
