Version: 0.70 (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux

Hi all, I have KDE 4.2.1 under Arch Linux and using Kopete 0.70.0. Sometimes I want to add a custom emoticon to my emoticons list but it does not have a selection for that. If I try to do it manually via System Settings it complains about the write permissions at /usr/share/emoticons/kde4. I changed the permissions using chmod and I added an emoticon. I could never see the emoticon at kopete and if I closed and reopened System Settings it was gone...Can you help me?

Experiencing the same problem. I still think storing the emoticons in $KDEHOME instead of the users ~/.kde directory if i add them manually is a very bad idea...

KDEHOME is ~/.kde by default
