Description Boris 2009-03-03 23:21:57 UTC
Version: 2.5.10 (using 3.5.10, Debian Package 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-1+b1 (lenny/sid))
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.26-1-amd64

In Emacs and Kmail (at least), ctrl-k deletes to the end of the line rather than the whole line. For consistency with these editors and quicker editing, Kate should duplicate this binding. To delete a whole line would require only "home" then ctrl-k; alternatively, alt-ctrl-k seems to be free and could be used for deletion of the whole line, which is useful for programming.

Ctrl+Alt+k is not free, as it is the default global shortcut for changing keyboard layouts.

Set as duplicate of bug #186698. There is a discussion about how CTRL+K should behave :-/
