Description Jonathan Gibert 2009-02-25 11:02:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I just let you imagine, I'm french (no, that's not the problem :p), I have a classical azerty laptop keyboard and a password containing alphanum + special characters.

Using Kubuntu jaunty alpha4 (fresh install), I'm expecting my keyboard layout will be automatically set to azerty but no (that's an alpha, I don't blame anyone). But in fact when I try to login in kdm, I'm typing qwerty and there is no simple way to understand it neither to change it.
(ofcourse, I could throw some characters in the login field and guess the keyboard layout...)

I suggest to insert a simple language/keyboard layout switcher somewhere on the login screen.
