KMail doesn't remember the window size and position when minimized/restored from system tray icon. 

Even if the window is in maximized state before minimizing to tray, it always opens it in some default size, when restoring from the system tray !!

Could you please fix the same?

This should be fixed now.
Applied in r930367 (4.2) and r930368 (trunk).

This appears to be an issue with kwin or some other part of KDE, as it does not occur when I run KMail under gnome.

This seems to be resolved in KMail Version 1.11.1 in KDE 4.2.1.
It is working fine for me now !!
