If you can reproduce the crash at will, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? 
You may need to install "libqt4-debuginfo" package

Hi,

I've had the same problem here. After I had cleared, the two plasmarc* files in config dir, I had my setup back to default.
Removing the task-manager from the panel crashed plasma.
Doing the exact same thing with the system tray also crashed plasma a second time...
