IMHO this is dupe of #147236 *** Bug 147236 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Ahh... where exactly is "the cache folder for the image" ? Did you mean ~/.thumbnails ? The only place an image you are viewing in the "Embeddable Image Viewer" would be cached is in kio_http's cache. If you have that enabled then the image should come from that cache.
