I'm trying to use advanced window settings to make xterm have transparency whenever it's run.  So I start an xterm with Alt-F2, then click on the window menu and select Configure window behavior.  In the popup, I go to Window Specific and select New.  On the popup, I hit Detect Window Properties, click the mouse on the xterm to select it, hit ok and go to the Preferences tab.  Here I check the box for Active Opacity, change Do Not Effect to Force and specify 50%, then hit Apply and ok.

However, the xterm never becomes transparent.  Even if I exit xterm and start a new one, it does not show any transparency.
