Description Christian Schneider 2009-02-16 11:36:12 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-11-generic

I have created a search folder for all new or unread mails on my IMAP account. When I startup KMail, the folder view displays unread mail in the folder view, but the search folder does not show any messages.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Search for messages with "<status>" == "new" or "<status>" == "unread", select "Search in subfolders" and save the folder as "Unread mail".
2. Close KMail.
3. Make sure you receive a new mail into a searched folder.
4. Start KMail.
5. After synching the IMAP account, the folder view shows the number of unread mails, but the search folder does not.
6. Select the folder with new mails in the folder view.
7. The search folder gets updated and now shows the new mails.
8. Repeat step 6 for each folder with new mails, and the number of unread mail in the search folder increases each time by the number of new mails in the selected folder.

Still reproducible with kmail2.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
