KPlayer does not use Phonon at all. I'm also not sure Kscd not finding your CD is a Phonon issue, I'd rather suspect HAL or Solid. Forgot to mention. I'm using phonon 4.3.0 Kevin. Could be. But all I know is that KDE 4 apps don't work the way they should. But playing directly from Xine does even though I'm using the same xine-libs with phonon-xine and Xine. I think it would be best to let the KDE developers decide where the actual problem is instead of guessing. Crap!!! Sometimes I miss what's written right infront of face. I checked for the thin cable as indicated by Kevin. Doh. It wasn't there. I just connected one and KsCD works like a charm. However KPlayer still behaves the same. But as Kevin points out, that KPlayer doesn't use Phonon then I suppose I should report this as over at KPlayer. So I guess this should be a never mind. I'm sorry for the reporting this needlessly. |
