Description Greg John Goodsir 2009-02-15 09:55:17 UTC
Version: 1.10.3 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Mandriva Linux release 2009.0 (Official) for i586)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.10-desktop586-1mnb

When doing a test to see if sending emails work, they do not get sent. I tried sending an email to myself but got a message:
Sending failed: an error occurred during authentication sasl(-4); no mechanism available.
My account is also including webmail on my ISP's server. It is a SMTP type system. Using evolution in Gnome, I have no problems sending and receiving emails. I also tried Evolution in KDE and it works fine.
1. In Konytact click on New Message Button.
2. Type you're own email address in the "To" field.
3. Type "Test" as an example in to Subject field.
4. Click the send button.
Result is the error message I discribed above.
It is reproduceable every time, at least with my setup.
I will also post an attachment of the complete error message picture.

My guess is that you are missing an encryption package. Had that myself before. Check for the KDE depedencies.
