Description Juha Tuomala 2009-02-09 15:26:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I hang out in few channels, some of them use english, some finnish, some estonian.

I also have to constantly change the keyboard layout from system tray to get easier layouts for some langs as commonly used keys are used without alt, shift or alt-gr keys - they are mapped directly to main key caps. (like estonian ü, õ)

Then again, I only use those other langs in some particular window, but still need to change the whole desktop for that layout.

It would be timesaving for users and differentiate konversation from others if I could set keyboard layout, character encoding etc per channel basis.

Thanks for the best irc client.

I think the most likely way this would be implemented is by us eventually adding script hooks that also let you run a command on channel switches, and then you setting it to run setxkbmap.
