Description Gennady Uraltsev 2009-02-09 01:50:08 UTC
Version: 2.0.1 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-11-generic

Trying to search in the amarok 2 collection section for non ascii entries results in case sensitive searches that are rather annoying especially if one does not know the exact way the title is capitalized. Amarok 2 is installed (in my case) on a Kubuntu 8.10 machine. I have found a similar bug 138482 that has status "Resolved" about as much as two years ago. It also presents a relevant patch so I think the bug was already solved. The problem is that this bug persists in amarok 2 (the 138482 bug concerns an other version), and it seems that the patch has not been integrated into the source code for the new version. I am no developer so I do not know neither how to use that patch, nor if it still usable in the form that is provided there. Since the problem has already been solved (they reference some problem with sql databases and utf-8 non ascii encoding) I suppose it would be an easy task to fix it in this new version. Thanks! And I hope that precious bug-fixes done by the community will not be forgotten and applied to future releases.
