Description Thomas McGuire 2009-02-08 22:35:09 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

When someone unknown writes me a message, Kopete shows a chat window with that message. I have configured Kopete so that the participant list on the right hand side is enabled.

Now, when I right-click the new unknown person and choose "Add to contact list" (or similar, can't remember the exact wording), the contact is added to my contact list.

However, the state of that contact is wrong: The "Request Authorization" button is grayed out, yet Kopete never requested an authorization. It is therefore impossible to ever see the online status of the contact, unless you remove him and add him back via the toolbar button "Add".
The toolbar button works correctly, it opens a dialog prompting me for authorization request text, and then sends that request.

Can't reproduce with Kopete from KDE 4.3? Can you still reproduce this?

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
