Description Dave 2009-02-06 13:44:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Hi,

I use an HDready HDTV as my computer monitor using the rosultion of 1280x720 (or 720p).
When I load KDE 4.2.0 (and earlier) the fonts are HUGE.
I chose the smallest size possible (size 2) fonts and then the fonts were normal but the spaces and layouts on the screen stayed the same size.
so I had normal font size but huge space between icons in dolphin and others.
Also, not all the titles and panels changed size when I chose to change it even though I changed all the font types to size 2, so I had some fonts with normal size and some stayed huge.
This made everything completely unusable.

Dave.

I'm on Ubuntu 8.10, installed KDE4.2.0 using the official PPA.

You should make sure your X11 setup reports sane values for the DPI, but there is also an option in systemsettings to force a font DPI value of 96 or 120.

Dave, can you test with KDE 4.3 RC and provide a screenshot? Thanks!

Here is how to install 4.3 RC in *buntu 9.04 and 9.10:
