Version:           1.2.80 (using 4.2.61 (KDE 4.2.61 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090127)), Gentoo)
Compiler:          x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-gentoo-r1

It would be nice, when the filter bar have additonally mode to use the given string us regular expression or wild card to filter files.

A mode to negate the filter - also invert the filter - would be also nice.

I support the idea of having '*' as a wildcard in the filter.
The current behaviour is inconsitent to the open and save dialogs KDE uses, as there the wildcard is necessary to filter for e.g. file extensions.
So I always use * also in the filters in dolphin and I am suprised every time that no file is displayed any longer.
