As you experience the crash every time, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? Thanks :) After reading the page Dario mentions, I've captured a new backtrace. I can't find the -debug package to deal with the ?? from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 ---------------------- Application: KNotify (knotify4), signal SIGSEGV [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0xb63b96d0 (LWP 10560))] Thread 2 (Thread 0xb3670b90 (LWP 16814)): #0 0xb36832a4 in pa_mainloop_poll () from /usr/lib/libpulse.so.0 #1 0xb3684a95 in pa_mainloop_iterate () from /usr/lib/libpulse.so.0 #2 0xb3684b74 in pa_mainloop_run () from /usr/lib/libpulse.so.0 #3 0xb369132e in ?? Do you have an USB webcam or microphone (or some other audio/media device?) This is probably related to bug 180109 (In reply to comment #4) > Do you have an USB webcam or microphone (or some other audio/media device?) > This is probably related to bug 180109 > No web cam and I don't think there is a built in microphone. The only "audio" device would be the CD/DVD drive and the onboard speakers. The laptop is an old Toshiba Satellite 5200 that I have from work. (it's slow but it has a great screen). I will check out bug 180109. Dave it's a bug in the fallback/init code *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 180109 *** |
