Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I wish that KMail has an option to hide it's main window on start up so I don't need to close it manually on each KDE start up.

KMail also reports about error in name resolution every start up, because I wasn't connected yet. It's should has ability to detect disconnect state.

Please, only one bug per report.

your wish is already reported.

About your other problem, please check that you do not have enabled the option "check mail on startup" in the accounts counfiguration.
