Description Mikko C. 2009-02-04 11:13:51 UTC
Version:           2.0-SVN (using 4.2.61 (KDE 4.2.61 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090127)), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.29-rc3

I just came across this nice project: mtp2lastfm
From the description:

"It's a very small piece of C++ code, and it's aim is to be able to scrobble the tracks from all the libmtp-supported player."

I think it'd be very nice to have this as an option, when plugging in my mtp device :)

There is also qtscrobbler (http://qtscrob.sourceforge.net/), that is much more advanced, and supports both ipods and mtp devices (mtp support currently in svn trunk, but really usable). Playcount and ratings transfer to database would be also appreciated (#147596)>

changing title more appropriately.

There is a program called qtscrob (http://qtscrob.sourceforge.net/), written for qt, that works much better. Apart from MTP devices, it can also scroblle iPods (support for MTP is in svn trunk, though it works very well).

Mikko I have problems unpacking the bz2. How is it possible? I did the command "bzip2 -d mtp2lastfm_1.0-alpha_i386.bz2" and I had a unique file called mtp2lastfm_1.0-alpha_i386.
How is it possible?

This is not the right place to have support, especially for a problem not related to amarok!

thanks

I also would like the ability to scrobble to last.fm from media devices (like my ipod specifically). It worked fine in amarok 1.4.x (which I lost and have not been able to get working again since my upgrade to ubuntu 11.10).

I've not been able to get any other alternative player to scrobble songs played through my ipod or to be able to properly handle my "large" music collection (about 400 GB worth of mp3s).

Gotta say, this (and a few other bugs/loss of functionality) has been driving me quite insane since the upgrade.

This is on my long-term TODO list. Will probably come along track statistics synchronization whose protope is already working.
Comment 10 Matěj Laitl 2012-12-15 21:42:45 UTC
Fixed by means of Statistics synchronization in Amarok 2.7.
