Description Stephan Sokolow 2009-02-04 02:09:31 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25-gentoo-r7-20080501

Kopete 4.2.0 wastes space by showing my identities as a list rather than statusbar icons. For someone with at least one identity on every protocol (three on Jabber/XMPP because of connectivity issues and Kopete 3.5's unreliable auto-reconnect) and several dozen friends, this is a serious problem. (No offense, but it's enough to keep me on Kopete 3.5 for now)

Could you please add a toggle in the settings to go back to the old way?

Settings -> Configure -> Contact list -> [ ] Show identities in status bar instead of accounts.

KDE 4.2 seems to love to make fun of me. When I started Kopete 4.2 this time to look for that option, it auto-enabled it before I could even open up the Configure dialog.

Oh, but I do hope you've made the auto-reconnect more reliable. The new way (grouping all accounts into a single identity icon) means that I won't notice when some of my accounts are offline.
