This is a Qt bug already fixed in qt-copy and waiting for future Qt releases (4.4.4 and 4.5) Look at bug 178718 / bug 174065 You can file a report on the Debian bugtracker to include the patch from qt-copy in their Qt package. Thanks FWIW this fix is in Debian's Qt 4 package since the beginning of December. Package version is 4.4.3-2.
