When I change keyboard layout in KDE 4.2.0, layout changes, but indicator doesn't

Hard to tell what happens, but you may want to follow resolution steps for another gentoo problem, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179729
Updating of the indicator is done with libxklavier so hopefully they're of the same origin and upgrading will help.

Problem solved
I upgrade xorg-server and its dependencies.
