Description Thomas McGuire 2009-01-31 15:02:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

When I open the chat window of Kopete, the applications freezes for a long time.
This is probably because I join a Jabber groupchat, which requests the chat history and displays a large amount of backlog.
I use the "Gaim" chat window style.
This is with Kopete from svn trunk, rev. 916138.

In the past, I have also experienced with issue (with the Fresh theme on 4.1.x) and it usually involved the console printing a bunch of lines about one every second for a long time. For instance, it would print 10-ish lines, wait 1 second, print 10-ish more lines, wait 1 second, print 10 more lines, etc. Meanwhile, Kopete was unresponsive. Therefore, I suggest you run kopete in a console and see if you get those messages that look useful because they may be useful to developers to understand what is happening.
