Version:           1.11.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Arch Linux)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.28

Changing the message list font and colour options via settings, configure kmail, appearance as per my kmail settings in kde 4.1 does not change any of the settings. Changing the font or colour options for the folder list works just fine. 

This is a regression from the behaviour in kmail shipped in kde 4.1

I can reproduce that easily. Might this be the same as Bug #178402 ?

The colors option works for me in kmail 1.11.90 (kde 4.2.61).
The fonts options is a dup. Closing the bug as one part is working and the other one is already reported.
