Jaiqi Hu, are you aware of the "extended slideshow" that is available in DigiKam if you also have the KIPI plugins installed? Maybe that is just what you want?

The bug marked a duplicate of this bug is indeed something different, though, being explicitly about transition effects without plugins (even without slideshow).
