The passive dialog showing an incoming message appears at the top of the screen just right of centre.

I would expect it to appear just above the system tray (like the old message bubble), or perhaps to be movable.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
