This is new. It's the same Debian Lenny installation when I had it working, before apt updating. Konqueror displayed these pages flawlessly: all the glyphs were in order. That was 3.5.9 from about July/September 2009.  Something regressed obviously since then. I did not change my settings. In fact, I only noticed this by firing "open this link in the web browser" in XChat, and it defaulted to Konqueror. 

Font renders utf-8 Polish content correctly on Opera 10 (compiled against qt4, gcc4.1.1), epiphany, iceweasel...

However, Xchat (which is part of KDE) has trouble rendering for the web browser (Opera) polish content, which shows up ok within Xchat irc channel conversaton itself, but becomes mangled similarly, when opened via the abovementioned right-click, that is, when delegated to a web browser. The web browser, other than Konqueror, has no problems rendering these glyphs otherwise.

So the problem probably lies in the underlying code for kde 3.5.1 (and is a regression from 3.5.9, and may be as trivial as a switch to an inferior font or a bug in encoding processing), not just in Konqueror. Just my guess.

My settings:
Font in konqqeror -> Configure Konqueror -> Appearance -> Standard font: Sans Serif (font size: 10)

Fonts render incorrectly on the Wikipedia main page and everywhere else, for example at http://www.gazeta.pl/0,0.html or on the Bugzilla page. 

For example, the e ogonek in this "Login in" signage: Zaloguj się -- is obviously missing. I see it while typing for this bug report in this textarea as an empty rectangle (I included it here by copy-and-paste from another Konqueror tab).
