Version:           1.11.0 (using 4.1.96 (KDE 4.1.96 (KDE 4.2 RC1)), Debian packages)

kmail freezes (hangs) on imap mail with alot of attachments. It doesn't respond for ~30 seconds. The cpu usage is about 30% (i have dual-core), and network is hardly used during the process.

I can reproduce it only on one mail. I'll also attach a screenshot.

one important detail: the attached files are encoded using 8bit encoding, and usually they are encoded using base64

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
