Network usage plasmoid bug
does ksysguard show the same broken values? No, those are ok. I found out why KSysGuard showed good values. It was newer in the memory. I had to restart X after refreshing KDE. Sorry about that, it was my fault. After the restart it was ok, it showed the correct values. But now, it's the same as you can see in the screenshot. hm. does that mean ksysguard is also showing the wrong values, or is ksysguard showing correct values but the plasmoid is wrong? please be sure to let ksysguard run for a while in case it's something like an integer overflow error. Yes, your're right. After a certain time, Ksysguard also shows the wrong value. (105, -795, ..., -4 500 000). But only the scale is wrong on the left. The "Receiving" and "Sending" values are right. @Szőts: can you still reproduce this bug using KDE 4.2.2? I'm not able to reproduce this bug using current trunk. Yes, it is fixed. I copied with 10 MB/s and it handled correctly. Version: Qt: 4.5.1 KDE: 4.2.70 (KDE 4.2.70 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090415)) "release 1.4" I'm sorry to say that, but it isn't fixed. It seems it needs time rather than speed to overflow. Yes, I have this bug too. I'm using OpenSUSE 11.1 and KDE4.3 (Version 4.2.86 (KDE 4.2.86 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090514)) "release 125"). http://forum.kde.org/network-usage-monitor-plasmoid-bug-t-58556.html I have a similar but slightly different problem with the network usage plasmoid. It shows flipped values and I've explained my problem here http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=64522 I wonder if bug 206942 could be related to this too ... Thanks Yes, Bug 206942 is definitely a duplicate of this. *** Bug 206942 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** - Does the situation of bug 206942 (usage > 4Gb) also appear in the people experiencing the bug reported here ? it could be the info need to get this fixed. Thanks (In reply to comment #16) > - Does the situation of bug 206942 (usage > 4Gb) also appear in the people > experiencing the bug reported here ? it could be the info need to get this > fixed. > Thanks For me, it is always like that, doesn't matter how much or little is transferred I have two computers. But this bug appears only in 32bit system. 64bit system are OK. (In reply to comment #18) > I have two computers. But this bug appears only in 32bit system. 64bit system > are OK. I only have 64bit and this bug is present here SVN commit 1029592 by pdamsten: Discard negative values. BUG: 180810 M +1 -1 net.cpp WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1029592 *** Bug 219262 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 40161 [details] Still negative scales after long run. KDE 4.3.4 / gentoo. Still shows negative values: after a long run, it looks like something overflows. KDE 4.3.4 was released 2009-12-01. Comment #20 (bugfix report) is added 2009-09-30 (far before release). Summary: not fixed yet. Please re-open. Fix on comment 20 was applied to trunk (4.4 codebase) and never backported to the 4.3 branch. So, KDE SC 4.3.x is still experiencing this error while 4.4.0+ isn't.
