I updated to KDE 4.2 RC1 two days ago. I have two problems which I did not have in KDE 4.2 Beta2.

I have a laptop (1440x900), intel 945GM, connected to an external monitor (1680x1050). When I log in to KDE I get 1440x900 for both monitors.

I was able to correct that by switching off the laptop monitor, either using xrandr or the system-settings, and then selection the high resolution.

However, now, I cannot set the external monitor's resolution any higher than 1440x900. It only accepts the 1440x900 setting. Moreover, when I turn off the laptop's monitor X-server restarts and takes me back to the log-in screen.

I did not have any of these problems with KDE 4.2 Beta2...please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I installed from Kubuntu packages.
