Compiler:          gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20070214 (  (gdc 0.24, using dmd 1.020)) (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.1)

The first time I started Kontact, KMail showed a fairly similar-to-4.1 message list (with the addition of day categories). The second time, after a crash of Kontact, it is showing a two-line (subject+status, sender+date) style.
Defaults should be consistent.
