Description Karel Kozlík 2009-01-14 12:10:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I am using the default shortcut settings for application switching:

Alt + Tab for application switch and
Alt + Shift + Tab for application switch in backward direction

I also set shortcut Alt + Shift for keyboard layout switching.

Now the Alt+Tab works correctly, but Alt+Shift+Tab works in same way as Alt+Tab - it switching applications in same direction.

When I set shortcut for keyboard layout switching to something else than Alt+Shift, then the Alt+Shift+Tab works perfectly.

I experienced this problem in KDE 4.1.2, 4.1.3 and 4.2.0RC1 (I did not used previous versions of KDE)

Also Shift+Tab doest`t work properly in YaST (text mode). I can navigate forward with Tab key but can`t navigate backward with Shift+Tab.

KDE 4.1.2, 4.1.3, 4.2.0

I think there is hardly anything that can be done. You have two conflicting shortcuts. The keyboard layout uses setxkbmap to get the shortcut, so that interferes.

same shortcut for different things will not work. closing.
