Description Thomas Thrainer 2009-01-12 11:47:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I am currently writing my thesis which will be a two-sided document. Therefore, I usually have the "Facing Pages" option enabled to get an impression of the final page layout.

However, okular always assumes that the first page is on the left and thus an even page (although it's clearly an odd page). So I end up having my odd pages on the left and my even pages on the right, getting the opposite of what I wanted.

I am aware of the "Center first page" option which can be used to work around this issue. But I would like to have the first page displayed on the right rather than in the centre, providing a more "book-like" view.
Also, this option is quite hidden and cumbersome to change for each document (I also want to see one-sided documents quite often), so I would suggest to put a "First page is odd" or "Draw first page on the right" switch into the view menu. IMHO this toggle should not affect the "Overview" view mode at all (unlike the "Center first page" option), because it does not provide a book-like view.
