Is it still valid? On my desktop my floppy drive is listed in Dolphin by default so WORKSFORME. Granted it's not in the new device notifier but it maybe doesn't belong there. Yes it is still valid. I do know if it belongs to device notifier. But I cannot use it in doplhin anyway. When I create desktop icon, it shows up also in dolphin. But I do not see file on my floppy. When I click floppy in dolphin it only print message it is already mounted and it is not switched to floppy directory. Also there is no way to umount the floppy. When I asked if it was still valid I meant "is it still valid on KDE 4.2.0" (you reported against 4.1.3), pointing that out as my post was very ambiguous (sorry about that). :-) So is it still valid in a full KDE 4.2.0 session? If yes could you please provide the exact error message you get? (making a dolphin screenshot and attaching it is fine if it's localized in english) If yes please also attach the content of your /etc/fstab so that I can take a look. But really I've no idea how to reproduce that it just seems to work for me. Maybe that's a fedora specific thing? I can't really tell. Last time I tried it it was on KDE 4.2.0 and it was also an issue. Now I tried it and it works. But I still cannot umount device. Right click in dolphin only enables to hide device. Not to umount. I have just tested this on KDE 4.3.2 and you still can't umount the floppy from Dolphin. I could mount it though with no problems. I had to create a desktop icon so i can umount it, but i wasn't able to mount it from here, an "only root can mount" error message was shown (but again, from dolphin the floppy gets mounted fine) |
