Description Matzzzl 2009-01-07 23:29:58 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I have mounted an NTFS partition using fstab. This NTFS partition seems to be mounted correctly, because using the console I can access files stored on this partition and I can also copy / write new files to this NTFS partition correctly.

Copying files from my ext3 partition to the mounted NTFS partition with KDE4's Dolphin (KDE 4.1.3, Kubuntu) leads to an error message that the permissions of this file cannot be changed, although the file itself is copied correctly to the NTFS partition. Unfortunately I cannot quote the English error message exactly, because I use German language settings. Of course the file permissions of the copied file cannot be changed since NTFS does not support Linux' file permissions. But receiving this error message each time I copy a file to the NTFS partition is quite annoying.
