Version:           4.1.85 (using Devel)
Compiler:          gcc version 4.4.0 20081218 (experimental) (GCC)

Installed from:    Compiled sources

1. create a window (eg. a terminal)
2. move it down (or whereever) so that it partially overflows the border of the screen
3. activate desktop grid effect
4. said window is NOT displayed on the desktop grid

PS. another way to demonstrate it is to try to move the window on the desktop grid itself; as soon as it hits a border of a desktop, it vanishes.

I use the RENDER (not GL) way for desktop effects.

KWin handles the desktop effects =)
