I do not see the utility of your whish. Indeed, it will annoy a lot of people that does not uses computers everyday. Unless you are proposing to do what amarok does, to minimize to systemtray and not be shown in the taskbar, unless the icon in the systemtray is pressed. And kmail should allways start as it was closed the last time. In any case, is up to the developers to implement it or not. "Unless you are proposing to do what amarok does, to minimize to systemtray and not be shown in the taskbar, unless the icon in the systemtray is pressed." Thats what i mean. If KMail is in my autostart, it open at each start. That's ok, but if "alway show KMail in systemtray" is switched on, there should be only launch in the systemtray. The problem is that you have to close the window of kmail every time you boot the computer. Maybe adding an option like "Start Kmail minimized in system tray" under the button "Always show KMail in systemtray" would be a solution. *** Bug 183172 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 185520 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Although is a solution, i think there is no point of an option "Start minimized when always shown in systray", i think it should be done in any case. Just to make it simpler though, no problem if there exists one. Hello, There's a patch proposed for bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75673 / review at http://reviewboard.kde.org/r/504/ that should provide a fix for this (start kmail hidden in systray if it was hidden when the previous session was closed). here is a very nice solution, but works only for gmail accounts. There is the gmail-plasmoid, which does check with a timer your gmail account, and by clicking it you can execute kmail. it is lighter than kmail and you have not to leave kmail open. I join to this wish. After every boot I am forced to close the kmail window, but this is so unpleasantly. Also Kmail could remember its state during exit, like Amarok. Yeah, kmail starting minimised would be very convenient for me too. *big bump* Seems reasonable to me. Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding. Hi, is it possible to clone this report with all comments or simply change product? Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2. Sure, it's very valid :) Kmail still doesn't remember the main window state, e.g. as amarok does, so if I closed it when it was minimized to the system tray amarok will remember that and next time will start minimized. |
