Description Bassio 2009-01-07 00:43:39 UTC
Version: 1.10.3 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-9-generic

I open kmail .. then click New on the toolbar.. start writing a message and the spellchecker marks every word as misspelled.

Also the spelling gets very very slow and

Now click Ctrl-N to open a new window and I paste the previous message to the new window abd this time it acts normally as expected.

can please someone confirm similar behavior?

I can't reproduce here on kde trunk versin. So I assume this is fixed.
Comment 3 George Kiagiadakis 2009-01-10 00:15:21 UTC
This happens probably because a different spelling language is set in the spelling options. Go to settings->spell checker and select the language that you are writing.

@George Kiagiadakis:

True, the strange thing is: that the first window always has the spell-checker not English.. but opening a second composer window has the spell-checker on English(United States of America)

I smell a bug .. but I do not run trunk so we need confirmation from someone running latest svn.

Also fixing the Default Language to English gets restarted to "Arabic" here .. so even George's proposed solution has to be repeated on every new session of Kmail before composing an email.

I know that, it is a known bug. This is a duplicate of bug 174338 and related to bug 170379.
