Description Fred Wells 2009-01-06 04:37:37 UTC
Version:            (using Devel)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

KDE 4.2 >= 20090101

When moving one icon into the grid space of another icon, rather than shifting the impeding icons to allow space for the newly placed icon, the new icon is stacked on top of the existing one. Recommend shifting existing icons down/right to make room for the new icon.

Strange. This bug "Summary" is not what I reported. Not sure how that happened. Instead, it should be "Icon stacking in folder view widget".
Comment 2 Aaron J. Seigo 2009-01-06 15:28:53 UTC
right, because this is about allowing icons to be moved, but enforcing a grided layout at the same time. so i changed the title to reflect that with a title that is more to the point.
Comment 3 Fred Wells 2009-01-07 03:33:25 UTC
That's fine. I'm not particularly partial to the summary, except that others experiencing the same problem might not recognize it when they do a bug search. Whatever works best to bring attention to the bug is fine with me. :)

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
