KDE 4's Kopete does not scale the contact list's avatar images so that all availible space is used, thus always resulting in white borders. I'll attach an image showing what I mean. Would be fine if all space was used.

Seems like not all avatar images are affected. Some of the images on my contact list are scaled as exspected, not depending on the account type used (there normally scaled images are both in my ICQ and in my Jabber list).

Actually, Kopete does store all avatar images as 96 x 96 px PNG images. The avatars on my contact list that are too small are either 48 x 48 px or 52 x 64 px images inside a transparent 96 x 96 px PNG image (thus resulting in white borders).

Fixed in KDE SC 4.3
