I like having things open in embedded instances in konq where possible, it'd be nice if I could set that up globally.

um... no. the actual existence of that feature isn't obvious. perhaps instead of selecting a group to show a groups setting. they could all have their settings displayed in the right pane when none are selected. or a global default setting could be shown there.

This isn't relevant anymore in the latest versions of Plasma as it seems that the UI to control it has been removed.
