Description Thorsten Staerk 2008-12-14 14:17:07 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

For my work on an KDE html parser, I am at the moment editing a file that I got from downloading http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32002L0021:SV:HTML. The file contains more than 80 000 columns. kwrite gets remarkably slow when deleting a character (using backspace or delete) in the file.

Here using:

Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85 (KDE 4.2 Beta2))
kdelibs svn rev. 896338 / kdebase svn rev. 896338
(yesterday build)

I can confirm the bug. Also if you press "Backspace" without releasing it, KWrite CPU usage goes to 100% and there's a noticiable delay , before removing the columns in the text.
