Still valid in 4.2.0 beta2 (4.1.85) I'm using kde4 beta2. I has the same problem. You "can't launch". The login manager module doesn't appear at all.. or their controls are disabled ? Also, have you updated your version (don't forget to mention it when reporting a bug against a devel version) Thanks It's fixed in settingsmanager 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu2 (Ubuntu Jaunty) for me. |
Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources I can not launch 'login manager' from systemsettings in KDE 4.1.80 (beta1) as normal user. Systemsettings says: systemsettings(16873) MainWindow::selectionChanged: Selected item: "Login Manager" systemsettings(16873) MainWindow::selectionChanged: Comment: "Configure the login manager (KDM)" systemsettings(16873) MainWindow::selectionChanged: Needs root privs: true systemsettings(16873) MainWindow::selectionChanged: Starting root module: ("-d", "-i", "/usr/share/icons/oxygen/32x32/apps/preferences-system-login.png", "-c", "/usr/bin/kcmshell4 kdm --lang en_US") systemsettings(16873) MainWindow::selectionChanged: Quit root module: ("-d", "-i", "/usr/share/icons/oxygen/32x32/apps/preferences-system-login.png", "-c", "/usr/bin/kcmshell4 kdm --lang en_US") Running "/usr/bin/kcmshell4 kdm --lang en_US" as root works without any problem.
