what you are requesting is _really_ hard to do as at the time kdm shows the login dialog (=outside a session) no window manager is running. note that kdm has a new option to place the login dialog at arbitrary positions so you can adjust the position according to the background - it's unlikely that the instructions fill the whole screen. best regards -- Hi!
