I love using Gwenview. Today I figured all my printer cables and attached my HP All in One 1410. I scanned few images and was ready to view them.. Since the images are quite big [600 dpi] .. I used Ubuntu Live CD to scan images as my laptop was not with me at tha time.. Ubuntu scanned the images perfectlly [courtsey Xscane] and I was shocked to see that Image viewer [Eye Of Gnome] loaded 100 Mb images without any hiccup. So smooth and clean..

Ok I am home I copied my images in my Mandriva 2009.0 KDE 4.1.3 installation..and tried executing images via Gwenview.. Here is what I experienced..

1  . Gwenview fails to display image at first . If I open the image it shows everything black despite it has loaded the image..

2. The resiged image looks grainy.. Yes it does.. While the Gnome viewer Eye of Gnome displays it perfectly even in resiged mode.

3 . Gwenview takes a lot of time to load. It even hangs for minuted while loading those big images.. So please fix memory leaks.. Same Gnome viewer loads pretty quickly even in Live CD mode..

Thats it.. Hoping for  a better and more responsive version of Gwenview.. I just love the interface and quality of the same..

Is this still valid with Gwenview 4.10? I don't have a scanner to test.
