Sentry Crash Report:

Description Jure Repinc 2008-12-06 13:14:32 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: GCC 4.3.2 AMD64
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I'm using Konqueror from SVN (kdelibs r893187, kdebase r893196). Using Firefox I can log into Digg.com just fine, using Konqueror I get an error. I guess it has something to do with JavaScript.

Steps to reproduce:
1. visit http://digg.com/
2. click on Login link at the top

Actual result:
You get an error message saying:
"Resource exhaustion trying to perform regexp match."

Expected:
Instead of the error an overlay should be shown with login form.

I can confirm that, Konqueror 4.1.82.
Comment 2 wieszti 2009-03-16 00:16:37 UTC
And I confirm that, konqueror 4.2.1 from debian experimental

This means a regexp they use is too crappy for PCRE to handle w/o running out of stack space....
Comment 4 Mike Bridge 2010-01-10 03:21:06 UTC
This still exists in KDE 4.3.4.

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
