Krecord could fullfill your needs, anyway I'm not sure if it is still developed and ported to KDE4. *BUMP* BUMP? I meant "My request is for include in KDE..." KRecord ins't a part of KDE desktop, and it isn't ported to KDE 4. I also know KRec. The apps exists, but they doesn't have official KDE support and for it, the are outdated, right? Bumping is to make the bug alive again :) Personally, I don't care whether it's Krec, KRecord or a new one. I just want to be able to record my sweet voice using a default app from KDE ;) I think that KDE 4 is the only desktop not providing a simple sound recorder app. Gnome, Mac OS X, Windows,... all of them have one! It's a shame for us. I understand now. It's like "up" in forums. O.K. Excuse me, I thought it was like "lol". Please consider a small fronted to record and play sound from soundcard. Had there been a record-playback (library) interface in KDE, many educational applications would benefit from it. At least for debugging the microphone, by recording/playback. Please, can we not have a small sound recording utility, for debugging hardware (microphone) for communication? Doesn't phonon provide such capability? I've just found this: http://kwave.sourceforge.net/ // added to cc list // http://lists.pardus.org.tr/gelistirici/2010-May/024248.html [a smilar discussion, in Turkish] // http://outrec.sourceforge.net/ [another sox (and gambas) based sound recorder] It baffles me why KDE users who want to record the audio output must use huge mixer programs like KWave or Audacity. I tried using audio-recorder for GNOME which has a nice interface, but the FLAC file it created wouldn't play back in Clementine. KDE users need to have a simple audio recorder like this. Heck, Windows had one in version 3, and maybe even version 2 as well. Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. |
